Greedy King Midas

 Greedy King Midas

King Midas of Phrygia was a wealthy man who loved gold above all else. One day, the god Dionysus granted him a wish. Blinded by greed, Midas wished for everything he touched to turn to gold. His joy was short-lived.

When he tried to eat or drink, it turned to gold in his hands.

Even his beloved daughter became a golden statue. Horrified,

Midas begged Dionysus to take back the curse. The god told him to bathe in the River Pactolus.

As Midas did, the river washed away the golden touch, leaving a reminder that true value lies not in material possessions but in love and connection.

Moral

Greed can turn even the most precious things into burdens. True happiness comes from relationships and experiences, not material wealth.
